Every June the HVFD hosts the Howard Chili Cook-off.
28th Annual Chili Cook-off was Saturday & Sunday, June 4th & 5th, 2011
Saturday Events:
Green chili cooking contest with judging at noon, chili for sale after judging, singles horseshoe pitching contests, flea market and craft booths, charity auction, food and drinks served all day.
Sunday Events:Red Chili Cooking contest with judging at noon, chili for sale after judging, doubles horseshoe pitching contests, flea market and craft booths, charity auction, motorcycle and car show, food and drinks served all day.
